MEET WENDY
From Cancer Survivor To HeaDwear Designer
Wendy Rosseel, founder of Rosette La Vedette, was 34 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and lost her hair during chemotherapy. She was full of optimism and didn’t want to settle for dark, uninspiring colours or old-fashioned styles. Wendy wanted something that felt like her—bright, comfortable, and uplifting.
She couldn’t find anything in the shops that suited her style. That’s when Wendy's mom stepped in. With a sewing machine in hand, her mom made a series of soft, beautiful turbans in Wendy’s favourite colours. They were stylish, comfortable, and uniquely her.
Wendy looked radiant, and soon, other women in her life were borrowing her turbans and receiving compliments wherever they went. Inspired by how these turbans made her feel, Wendy wanted to help others in the same situation. She partnered with a textile company and launched her own collection, Rosette la Vedette, named after her grandmother Rosette, whose nickname "la vedette" means "the star."
Today, Rosette la Vedette stands for strength, resilience, and joy. It’s a story of people—who may not have chosen to lose their hair but choose to feel empowered and look beautiful.
